Overview & Credentials

The Mumbai Food Truck Society (MFTS) is a non-profit organization that I established in early 2015, following my startup with the “Bombay Food Truck Company.”

The primary objective of the MFTS has been to simplify the statutory compliance procedures for food truck and food cart vendors operating in Mumbai.

These vendors currently face complexities due to the absence of a cohesive licensing framework.

Regrettably, since 2018, numerous food truck operators have been compelled to discontinue their businesses.

This has often resulted from difficulties encountered with regulatory bodies and various associations, which unfortunately appear to involve instances of corruption or inequitable practices.

Consequently, many subsequent attempts to establish food truck ventures have regrettably failed, frequently due to issues of non-compliance, market saturation, inadequate research, and incomplete information, leading to significant financial losses for those involved.

Through extensive discussions with prominent city authorities and civic leaders, I have gained a clear understanding of the substantial challenges associated with operating food trucks on public roads, particularly concerning the limited availability of space and the complexities of obtaining the necessary permissions within such a densely populated urban environment.

Not with standing these considerable obstacles, I have dedicated myself since 2015 to providing guidance and support to over 3000+ individuals who are entrepreneurs and food truck enthusiasts, assisting them in navigating the complexities of the industry and striving for secure and prosperous ventures.

Moreover, since 2010, the MFTS has been actively involved in organizing and supporting various events that showcase food trucks, food carts, pop-up establishments, and market stalls.

These initiatives serve to promote local talent and vendors throughout India. Our pop-up events and corporate installations have successfully enhanced numerous venues by offering a diverse array of food and products, thereby contributing a distinctive appeal to each below-the-line (BTL) activation.

Since early 2024, MFTS has commenced establishing contractual collaborations with corporate spaces, societies, turfs, and other privately owned venues managed by aggregators. Through these agreements, we facilitate the setup of food trucks, food carts, portable food kiosks, and other food and beverage-related business services within these locations.

MFTS has experienced an increase in collaborations with private space establishments that are amenable to commercial arrangements for the operation of food and beverage services on their premises.

Furthermore, MFTS is evolving not only as a venue aggregator but also as a growth marketing and brand development entity for brands, quick-service restaurants, cloud kitchens, and retail store setups. [MFTS] benefits from a proficient in-house team comprising professionals with approximately 20 years of experience.
